Working with Clients

Your photography project will start with your unique goals. At the beginning of the assignment, I‘d like to meet in person to discuss thoroughly your vision and hopes for the project as well as how you intend to use your new photographs.

We’ll also review all the steps involved, from photo shoot to delivery of your images. I will present a quote for your entire job, so that all the costs are fully known before we begin.

In the Studio or On Location

Clients love my unique photography studio in Norwalk. Located in a small office building, the studio’s shooting area is a glass penthouse. I can shoot both inside the penthouse as well as outdoors on the rooftop deck; you get the benefits of a traditional studio plus the opportunity for natural light shooting. The studio also has a private room for clients to apply make-up or change clothing.

Sample Portrait Project

A mother wants to have pictures taken of her children, with two goals in mind. She wants a special image for this year’s holiday card plus a set of prints of several images to display at home and send along to grandparents.

Step 1: Photo Shoot and Image Editing

In my studio or on location, I shoot for an hour or more, taking about 100 images. I photograph the children individually and together, in various poses and, perhaps, several changes of clothing.

From this session, I select and edit in Photoshop about 20 finished photographs, which the client reviews online in a private gallery.

The fixed charge for photography and image editing depends on the location of the shoot, the length of the photo session and the number of images to be delivered.

Step 2: Prints and Electronic Images

The client selects the images she likes, which I print on a professional Epson printer using high quality paper. Stand sizes are 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10. For larger prints, I use an outside photo lab.

In addition to prints, the client also purchases a DVD of the images to use on her holiday card and share online with family members.
